Overview.
American Spend builds the data layer of American commerce. The economy produces roughly 120 million transactions a day; we structure that signal into the Spend Graph and ship it through three products: information markets, institutional datasets, and programmatic access. This page is a working map of the platform while full developer documentation is in progress.
The Spend Graph.
The Spend Graph is a structured, queryable model of consumer spending built from licensed transaction data. Every record that enters the graph is:
- Normalized: raw transaction strings are cleaned and standardized
- Mapped: resolved to a known merchant entity
- Enriched: categorized and made queryable by category, geography, and time
Every merchant that enters the graph connects to every existing one; every new transaction makes the structure more representative. Read more on the Spend Graph page.
Methodology.
How the numbers are made:
- Sourcing: Transaction data is licensed from third-party panels.
- Aggregation: Insights are computed across cohorts large enough to prevent re-identification of any individual
- Representation: Published figures are estimates from a growing sample of the economy; coverage and historical figures improve as the graph grows
Products.
- Spend Market: information markets that resolve directly on verified transaction data. Anyone can take a position on what the American economy will do. Live at spend.market.
- Revere: a model of American commerce, built for institutional use: permanent, queryable, and verifiable against an onchain commitment. See Revere.
- Knox Prime: programmatic Spend Market access for market makers and institutional trading desks: quote, stream, and settle directly. See Knox Prime.
Data access.
The read surface is documented on API; machine access over MCP and x402 on Agents. Institutional access to Revere datasets and Knox Prime is available today under license. Reach out and we will walk you through coverage, delivery, and terms.
Data practices.
How we collect, protect, and publish data is documented in our Privacy Policy, with usage terms in the Terms of Service and important notices in the Disclaimer. Data is licensed at the source, individuals are never identifiable in anything we publish, and individual transaction details are never sold.
